INSIGHTS INTO THE JEWISH YEAR

      5781/2021.   “God says I am doing a new thing.

                                                        "Isaiah 43:19

Looking forward to better times as we strive to put the chaos behind, the Biblical year that began in September, Rosh Hashana, 5781, and overlaps the Gregorian 2021, poses a tremendous encouraging message. "I am doing a new thing," Isaiah 43:19. The study of Hebrew letters' and their numeric values as seen in the illustration offers a prophetic word for this season.
 

First, the sum of these numbers is 21, and correlates to the letter shin meaning to grind and speaks of a process underway that connotes change. Consider the changes from an  unprecedented pandemic that has rocked the continents of the earth, and chaotic political environment, the shocking events on the US Capitol, and changes within in community of faith. In fact, changes are underway everywhere.

 

At the same time, 21 means, "Lord God" "I AM." Or, Be Still and Know That I am God.  It is seen again when Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, `The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, `What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?" God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. "This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you. I AM is in control of the tempest raging today. The title I AM calms the wind of our inner storms. Quiets the raging tempest of our time. In the midst of massive change and upheaval, the Great I Am is in control. I see our father's hand reaching down through the storm and gently drawing our face upward. "Be still and know that I am God" "I AM", in control.

 

Secondly, each number carries important meaning; 5 or Hey, represents grace and revelation; 7 Chet, means completion; 8 Zayin, means new beginning's; 1 Alef means strength and the beginning. Yeshua said that He is the beginning and the end, the Alef (the strength), and the Tav (the final word). He is the alpha and Omega. You see, any time God is present as the I AM, grace, revelation, and a completion of a cycle is underway. Combined, they form the ingredients for real strength and the beginning of something new. This is enlarged again in yet the following.

By multiplying the numbers of 5781 together, which is common in the study of Hebrew letters and numbers, you get 280. 280 Days = 40 weeks. It too points to several completions; rain fell for 40 days and 40 nights; Yeshua was tested in the wilderness for 40 days; Moses wandered with Israelites in the wilderness for 40 years.40 is the completion of a cycle or something that God is allowing and coming to an end. This year is the end, to make room for a new thing!

The number 280 also means to uncover and expose,which is further connected to. 280 speaks of the period of human gestation ( 280 divided by 30 days = 9.3 months i.e New life!  Let us form one orchestra of prayer towards a new thing this year. That new life will spring up. As forty sevens = 280, the perfect number. The Year of God's favor. As this year has been one of exposing and uncovering, let us get ready for God to do a new thing!
